#SuperGees Competition

Vodacom (Pty) Ltd (“Vodacom”) is running the #SuperGees Competition  (“the Competition”) where entrants are invited to submit their entries via SMS to the short code, 33459.

All participants during the term of the Competition agree to be bound by the following terms and conditions:

1. The Competition runs from 08h00 on 1 May 2014 to 00h00 on 30 June 2014. (“end date”).

2. Five (5) lucky entrants each stand a chance of winning a trip for him / herself and one (1) friend to watch the final game in the Super Rugby 2014 series. 

3. The location of the final game will be announced later in the series and is determined by the rules of the Super Rugby where teams play in the final match based on their performance during the entire Super Rugby series. Therefore, this competition entails winning either international or local travel tickets. (depending on the location of the final match).

The prize includes the following:

• For international travel (should the Super Rugby final match not be held locally):

a.  Return Economy Class airline tickets for travel from Johannesburg on an airline of the Promoter’s choice. Approximate travel dates are: Depart: 30 July 2014;

Return: 3 August 2014. Final travel dates and times will be confirmed with winners.

b. Where applicable, local South African domestic return flights will be arranged from the winners hometown (nearest airport) to Johannesburg. Flights will be booked in such a manner to coincide with the departures and arrivals of the international flights.

c. Shared accommodation (including breakfast) for the duration of the trip at a hotel of the Promoter’s choice. (schedule of the stay to be determined by the Promoter depending on where and when the final match will be held).

d. Daily drinks and meals (other than breakfast) at the hotel, final match and any sightseeing and excursions that are part of the itinerary, will be included based on the final itinerary as determined by the Promoter.

e. Ground transport between the international airport and hotel and the hotel and the rugby stadium where final rugby match will be hosted/ to sightseeing trips on the final itinerary as determined by the Promoter.

f. Match day tickets for the finals to be held on 2 August 2014. The position of the tickets and the type of tickets will be determined by the Promoter.

g. Medical and travel insurance.

h. Costs of obtaining visas, if applicable.

i. All taxes related to all prizes.

j. Gifts and/or promotional items from the Promoter as determined by the Promoter for each of the winners.

• Local travel (should the Super Rugby final match be held locally):

a. Return domestic economy class tickets from the winners’ hometown (nearest airport) to Johannesburg.

b. Shared accommodation (including breakfast) for the duration of the trip at a hotel of the Promoter’s choice. (schedule of the stay to be determined by the Promoter depending on where and when the final match will be held).

c. Daily drinks and meals (other than breakfast) at the hotel, final match and any sightseeing and excursions that are part of the itinerary, will be included based on the final itinerary as determined by the Promoter.

d. Ground transport will be defined based on the final itinerary determined by the promoter.

e. Match day tickets for the finals to be held on 2 August 2014. The position of the tickets and the type of tickets will be determined by the Promoter.

f. Medical and travel insurance.

g. All taxes related to all prizes.

h. Gifts and/or promotional items from the Promoter as determined by the Promoter for each of the winners.

4. The prize excludes the following:

a. Travel to and from the airport closest to the winners’ hometown.

b. Meals outside of the agreed upon itinerary, all expenses of a personal nature, such as non-essential transport, non-scheduled sightseeing, laundry, telephone calls, gratuities, items from the mini-bar fridge, room service and any other costs not specifically included in the prize description.

c. Any other costs incurred by the winner in claiming the prize.

d. Any medical vaccinations or requirements by the specified country to allow entry into the country. (International travel only).

5. To enter participants:

i] must SMS the keyword, SuperGees to the shortcode 33459 during the competition period stipulated in clause 1 above. Texts messages are charged at R1.50 per SMS. Free and bundled SMS’s do not apply.

6. A confirmation SMS at no charge to the entrants, will be sent to confirm that participants have been successfully entered into the competition.

7. The Competition is only open to natural persons 18 years or older. Business accounts held by Corporates and SMEs are excluded from the Competition.

8. Friends elected to travel with the winner may not be younger than 18 years of age due to the nature of the prize.

9. Winners and friends must be in possession of a valid SA identity document or valid permanent residence permit and a passport that is valid for 6 months after the date of international travel on 30 July 2014. Expiry date for passports must not be sooner than February 2015.

10. The winners and their friends must also be in possession of valid passports with no restrictions to travel.

11. Winners and their elected friends must be available to travel between 30 July 2014 (approximate date of departure) and 3 August 2014 (approximate date of return).  Should any of the winners not be available to utilize the prize during this period, they will forfeit the prize and Vodacom may in the exercise of its discretion nominate another winner.

12. Winners and their selected friend must be eligible to travel, have no criminal warrant or health issues that prohibit them to travel internationally (if required).

13. Winners will not be allowed to make changes/request changes to the accommodation, hotels or airline services used by the Promoter.

14. Participants are allowed to enter as many times as they wish during the competition period.

15. 16. The winners must be able to identify themselves (in a manner determined by Vodacom) as the qualifying entrants to the competition and have to comply with the required validation procedure in order to claim the prizes.

17. There are no additional charges for participating in the Competition.  Standard data and sms costs apply as per the user’s Service Provider for data use.

18. The winners will be selected by means of a random draw selection after the end date of the Competition, from all eligible entries which meet the requirements set out in these terms and conditions. The first eligible, qualifying entry drawn will win the prize.

19. All risks and ownership of the prize shall pass to the winner on transfer/delivery thereof and hence all of Vodacom’s obligations in regard to the promotion as well as in regard to the prize shall terminate. Vodacom will advise of delivery and/or collection arrangements in respect of the prize at the time of contacting the selected winner.

20. The winner will be contacted during working hours (08h00 to 17h00) by phone on or after the draw date, using the cellphone number provided used to enter the Competition.

21. Vodacom will use reasonable efforts to contact the winner telephonically on the contact details used to participate in the Competition. Vodacom shall attempt to contact the winner for a period of 2 (two) working days after his or her name has been drawn and verified as a winner.

22. Should a participant not be available on the contact number used to enter the competition during the timeframe stipulated or reject, forfeit or decline acceptance of the prize, that person's right to the prize will be deemed to have been waived and the prize will be forfeited. Vodacom reserves the right to then award the prize to the next selected entrant.

23. The claim for the prizes will be subject to security and validation checks and the winners will be required to produce a valid ID and passport (for international travel) when claiming the prize, failing which the winner will forfeit the prize and the prize to the next selected entrant.

24. if the winner cannot accept the prize for any reason whatsoever, the prize will be awarded to the next selected entrant.

26. Vodacom shall request the winners’ in writing to their image and/or likeness being used and published by Vodacom in connection with the Competition for a period of 12 (twelve) months after they have been announced as  winners. The winners may decline the use of their image and/or likeness by Vodacom.

27. The prizes are not transferable or exchangeable, and may not be redeemed for cash.

28. The judges’ decision on any aspect of the competition including the allocation of the prize will be final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into.

29. In the event of a dispute in regard to any aspect of the promotion and/or the Terms and Conditions, Vodacom’s decision will be final and binding and no correspondence may be entered into.

30. User data collected via the Competition may be only be used for marketing purposes if entrants indicated on their entry that they would like to receive marketing notifications and in accordance with WASPA and CPA requirements including the required opt-out function.

31. Employees, directors and agents of Vodacom, their immediate families, life partners, business partners and associates and any person directly involved with the devising, production, management or marketing of this Competition are not eligible to participate in this Competition.

32. The duration of the Competition may be extended or curtailed at the discretion of Vodacom.

33. Vodacom is not liable for any technical failures affecting participation and / prize redemption process of the Competition.

34. Vodacom, their associated companies, agents, contractors and sponsors assume no liability whatsoever for any direct or indirect loss or damage arising from a customer’s participation in the Competition or for any loss or damage, howsoever arising. In addition, neither Vodacom nor its agents shall be responsible for any loss or misdirected entries, including entries that were not received due to any failure of hardware, software, or other computer or technical systems.

35. If Vodacom is required by law to alter or cancel any aspect of the Competition or to terminate it as a result of changes in legislation, or for any reason whatsoever, it will have the right to terminate the Competition being offered, with immediate effect and without notice. In such event all entrants hereby waive any rights which they may have against Vodacom and its associated companies, agents, contractors and/or sponsors.

36. Vodacom may refuse to award the prize if these Terms and Conditions have not been adhered to or if it detects any irregularities or fraudulent practices. Vodacom is entitled in its entire discretion to reject any participant for any reason and will not be obliged to notify   that they are rejected. 

37. All information relating to the Competition which is published on any marketing material will form part of these Terms and Conditions. In the event of any conflict between such marketing material and these Terms and
