TERMS AND CONDITIONS:

Vodacom 20 years Social Media Sharing Competition

Vodacom (Pty) Ltd (“Vodacom”) is running the Vodacom 20 years Social Media Sharing Competition (‘the Competition”) on the Vodacom 20 Years Portal, http://www.vodacom.co.za/vodacom/20years as well as on the Vodacom Twitter account, www.twitter.com/vodacom  and the Vodacom Facebook page, www.facebook.com/vodacom

By participating in the Competition, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.

1. The Competition is open to subscribers on all mobile network providers in South Africa and will run for 2 weeks as per the schedule below:

Week 1:  From 8h00 on  16 July 2014 to 00:00 on 25 August 2014. (“end date”).

2. Each week two (2) lucky entrants, one (1) entrant on Twitter and  one (1) entrant on Facebook, stand a chance of winning one (1) LG L170 handset including Quickview phone covers

3. To enter, participants must either enter:

4. Entrants may submit as many stories as they wish to be entered into the Competition, but they are only eligible to win once for the duration of the competition. Participants receive an additional entry every time they share their story on either Facebook or Twitter.

5. Winners must reside in South Africa and be in possession of a valid SA identity document or valid permanent residence permit at the end date of the competition.

6. The Competition is also subject to, and must be read in conjunction with Vodacom’s existing Terms and Conditions applicable to its website and mobile site respectively:

7. The winners must be able to identify them in a manner determined by Vodacom, as the qualifying entrants to the competition and have to comply with the required validation procedure in order to claim the prizes.

8. Any participant under the age of 18 shall present their parent / guardian’s written consent  to enter the competition at Vodacom’s request.

9. There are no additional charges for participating in the Competition. Standard data costs apply as per the user’s Service Provider for data use.

10. The winner will be selected by means of a random draw selection after the closing date of the Competition, from all eligible entries which meet the requirements set out in these Terms and Conditions. The first eligible, qualifying entry drawn will be selected to win the prize.

11. If selected as a finalist, entrants must send the requested contact detail by the set cut-off date and time communicated via direct message on Twitter and via email on Facebook.

12. Only entries received during the weekly competition period stipulated in clause 1 above will qualify as potential winners.

13. All risks and ownership of the prize shall pass to each winner on transfer/delivery thereof and hence all of Vodacom’s obligations in regard to the Competition as well as in regard to the prize shall terminate. Vodacom will advise on arrangements in respect of the prize at the time of contacting the selected winners.

14. Notwithstanding the fact that the prizes vest on the winners immediately upon the determination of the results, any prizes that remain unclaimed / undelivered after three (months) of the end  date or no reasonable effort is made on the part of the winners to claim the prizes despite having been advised of the results of the competition will be forfeited. Vodacom then reserves the right to award the prize to the next qualifying winner.

15. Prizes will only be sent to a physical address and not a postal address.

16. The winners will be contacted during working hours (08h00 to 17h00) by phone on or after the draw date, using the cell phone number they provided in response to the Direct Message (Twitter) or email (Facebook).

17. Vodacom will use reasonable efforts to contact the winner telephonically on the contact details provided via email. Vodacom shall attempt to contact the winners for a period of 2 (two) working days after their names have been drawn as winners.

18. Should a participant not be available on the contact number during the timeframe stipulated  or reject, forfeit or decline acceptance of the prize, that person's right to the prize will be deemed to have been waived and the prize will be forfeited. Vodacom reserves the right to then award the prize to the next selected participant.

19. The claim for the prizes will be subject to security and validation checks failing which the winner will forfeit the prize and a new name will be drawn and if the winner cannot accept the prize for any reason whatsoever, another name will be drawn.

20. The winners’ names and location may be displayed on http://www.vodacom.co.za/personal/main/competitionshomepage.

21. Vodacom shall request the winners’ in writing to their image and/or likeness being used and published by Vodacom in connection with the Competition for a period of 12 (twelve) months after they have been announced as  winners. The winners may decline the use of their image and/or likeness by Vodacom.

22. The prize is not transferable or exchangeable, and may not be redeemed for cash.

23. The judges’ decision on any aspect of the competition including the allocation of the prize will be final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into.

24. In the event of a dispute in regard to any aspect of the promotion and/or the Terms and Conditions, Vodacom’s decision will be final and binding and no correspondence may be entered into.

25. All the information provided or related to entering this Competition shall be managed by a third party service provider for the purpose of running this competition only.

26. User data collected via the Competition will not be used for any other purpose than for the Competition only and in accordance with our privacy policy.  Vodacom will store your information for as long as we are legally required to. If there is no legal requirement, we will only store the collected information for as long as we need it.

27. In order to effect the arrangements required for the prize fulfilment in terms of this Competition, Vodacom shall provide the winners’ personal information, i.e. name and contact number to a third party for the purpose of distributing the prize items.

28. Employees, directors and agents of Vodacom, their immediate families, life partners, business partners and associates and any person directly involved with the devising, production, management or marketing of this Competition are not eligible to participate and win in this Competition.

29. The duration of the Competition may be extended or curtailed at the discretion of Vodacom.

30. Neither Vodacom nor its agents shall be responsible for any loss or misdirected entries, including entries that were not received due to any failure of hardware, software, or other computer or technical systems.

31. Neither Vodacom nor any other person or party associated with the Competition, their associated companies, agents, contractors and sponsors and any of its personnel involved in the competition, shall be liable whatsoever for any loss or damage incurred or suffered (including but not limited to direct or indirect or consequential loss), death or personal injury suffered or sustained arising from either participation in the competition or from claiming the prize. 

32. If Vodacom is required by law to alter or cancel any aspect of the Competition or to terminate it as a result of changes in legislation, or for any reason whatsoever, it will have the right to terminate the Competition being offered, with immediate effect and without notice. In such event all entrants hereby waive any rights which they may have against the Promoters and its associated companies, agents, contractors and/or sponsors.

33. Vodacom may refuse to award the prize if these Terms and Conditions have not been adhered to or if it detects any irregularities or fraudulent practices.

34. All information relating to the Competition which is published on any marketing material will form part of these terms and conditions. In the event of any conflict between such marketing material and these terms and conditions, these Terms and Conditions shall prevail.
